In town for a wedding. Friend recommended we go to Anthony's. make reservations. Take your own "brown bag" of wine or liquor. They only sell beer. They charge a 2 dollar uncorking fee but so worth it to have my own stuff. We had a couple of appetizers. The entrees were out if this world delicious. My friend had a steak. My husband had fish I had catfish that was fantastic. Eat it while it is hot. BTW the small house salads were not great. Droopy lettuce and WAY too much dressing. The bread pudding dessert was warm and delicious but on the dry side. Overall a few misses but also some hits so would recommend for sure. And remember to take your own brown bag.

A friend recently told us of this hidden treasure. The food was phenomenal in every way. Highly recommend! My husband had a dish with a stuffed soft shell crab on a bed of pepper jack cheese grits, drizzled with a sauce and topped with 4 grilled shrimp, side of grilled asparagus. My meal was similar but without the crab, in it's place beef tenderloin pieces.

Excellent food and service. Very large portions and all of them were wonderfully flavored. We went with a big party and they easily accommodated us and had plenty of space for lots of other parties. The appetizers were large and easy to share. We had the mushrooms, oysters, and the fried avocado. I had the streak with shrimp and pepper jack grits. I'm typically leery of grits, but the pepper jack grits are amazingly creamy and full of deliciousness! SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT! I had the Snickers Pie and a taste of the Bread Pudding. Both were heavenly! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a fantastic meal with large portions.

As usual, Anthony's did not disappoint! Hubs and I drove over from Starkville to meet up with his parents, share a meal, and listen to Honeyboy & Boots playing for acoustic night. Last month when we came, I opted for the ribeye with bayou butter. It was delicious. Tonight, I lightened it up with the blackened catfish. The fish was tender, well seasoned, perfectly cooked. I chose pepper jack grits for my side. Hubs wavered only for a second and ordered the Bourbon St chicken. It has red beans and rice over a fried chicken breast perched atop a hill of smashed potatoes. Pretty yummy. My in-laws split the ribeye special with fried shrimp on top. Everybody was pleased with the meal. We four split the bread pudding for dessert. I found it to be mediocre, the sauce was much too thick for my taste and almost cloyingly sweet. If you get it, definitely split it. The atmosphere at Anthony's is so warm and inviting. People get up and go visit other tables and socialize. It's just a feel good place. The food is solid and affordable. Just a good place to go for dinner, whether or not they have live music.

I had dinner with a group of business associates here. The service was friendly and prompt and the food . . . Oh my, the food. I am a huge fan of shrimp and grits and have had it in restaurants all over the southeast. Anthony's tops them all. If you get a chance to dine here I highly recommend it!

I love this place. I've never had a bad experience here. The food & service are excellent. They also have an extensive selection of beer, including local craft beer on tap. I suggest the Philly Filet.

A great surprise is this little town. I stopped through for a couple days, and decided to check this place out. All around decent prices on their seafood, but a little expensive when it comes to steak. The location is charging white tablecloth prices in a place with a blue-collar feel. They were a little slow the night we stopped in, so they comped our drinks. All of our food was hot when it got to us, and tasted great. ****

Anthony's is my favorite place around for steaks and seafood, but for me the highlight on the menu is the Chicken Anthony, a fried chicken breast with a rich mushroom cream sauce. Service is good without being bothersome. Prices are very reasonable and the ability to BYO wine or liquor makes it a great place to get together with friends. Reservations are recommended on the weekends.

I have no idea how to put into words the excellence of my meat at this establishment. Here is as simple as I can make it: Beef Tenderloin: The best piece of meat that has ever graced my lips. It beat Kobe beef in Japan, the Bonsmara steaks at the Country Barn in Amarillo and even the steak ya mama made (even if it was dipped in melted butter). In fact, it beat them all to a pulp including your mama. Garlic Mashed Potatoes: creamy and chunky at the same time, this was NOT from a box and was not made yesterday. I found actual chunks of sauteed garlic in them. Asparagus: Count the number of times you have had this finicky veggie where it wasn't overcooked to mush and not underdone. I stopped at 7 and didn't care because the spice flavor seemed to come from inside the asparagus itself and not from the lightly seared but tender outer flesh of this side. Beer: cheap ($2.50 a mug), cold mug, on tap, micro-brew...need I say more? I don't care where I am going west of Mississippi, I am stopping here every time.

I was treated here for a work dinner and it was good. We had fried green tomatoes, fried green beans, fried mushrooms, and my entree was the asiago crabmeat mahi mahi. Service was good and food was delicious to me. I didn't know what the tab was but it was all and all one of the great places I had food at in Mississippi on my trip. Casual dining experience with good food and drinks.

I just don't know if my grouper was worth $20, and the manager's snotty attitude sure didn't help, either. My husband's a vegetarian, and the waitress very kindly offered to ask the manager for her recommendation, which was: "Go somewhere else." Well, I'm not a vegetarian, but with those prices and that kind of an attitude, I sure will take that advice.

Anthony's is - hands down - my favorite restaurant in the area and the only one I will truly miss when we move! We love the casual atmosphere, the live music every Wednesday, the BYOB policy (for wine and liquor) and the weekly specials. We almost always order the specials when we go, and they are usually amazing, so I would recommend giving whatever they have that week a try. They change up their menu periodically, which is nice because it keeps things interesting for regulars. We only wish it were a little closer to Columbus...but, in any case, that hasn't kept us from returning time and again.

This place is fabulous. Gumbo was loaded with crawfish tails and delicious. We had a party of 4 and everyone really enjoyed their meal. Atmosphere and service were great.

I love their Gumbo and also Shrimp and Grits. My sister-in-law had their Ahi Tuna that was absolutely amazing. Everyone was very happy with what they ordered.
